Raindrop Technique

The raindrop technique applies a variety of therapeutic grade essential oils to the feet, spine and back topically using specific types of strokes in a specific sequence. The oils act synergistically to kill viral and bacterial pathogens, reduce inflammation, support the immune system, ease respiratory discomfort, relax stressed muscles, relieve body and joint discomfort, as well as balance energy, restore calm, lift the spirit and improve concentration. The client must remove shoes, socks and clothing above the waist to allow for the application of oils. A session lasts approximately 1 hour.

Clients that benefit the most from this technique are those with:

  • Acute or chronic back pain
  • Bone or joints issues
  • Spinal misalignments such as scoliosis or kyphosis
  • Respiratory issues
  • Stress issues

Gary Young developed this technique after visiting with the Lakota people in South Dakota where he learned about effleurage (feathered finger stroking). He combined this technique with the energy of essential oils and Vita Flex and formally adopted the Raindrop Technique in 1989. It is used in various health care settings with tremendous results.
